Trunk or Treat

The trunk or treat at the church was a success. The girls all wanted to be butterflies, so I joined them, and Jon was a lepidopterist (someone who studies butterflies). Our trunk was decorated like a monster-- but mostly looked like Larry the Cucumber.

Report card and Art Show

Kate had her first report card and the teacher had some great things to say!
Then Miss Abby had a fall art show at school to showcase her work so far this year. Her handwriting is improving, and her work is cute as can be. I'm one proud Mom!

30!!!

Well it happened. My 20's are over. And I'm 30. There is no more pretending that I'm young and fun. I took some pictures with the kids at the park to celebrate. Taking a selfie with 3 kids is an art.
Then my sweet husband surprised me with a girls night birthday party! He took the kids to get 32 balloons and snack food, then had the ladies come over to party! It was so sweet! I think I hit the jackpot with this guy of mine!

Pumpkins!

We went to go buy pumpkins and the girls loved it. Abby went straight to her pumpkin and didn't change her mind. Kate took longer to decide, but loved the one she eventually found.

Carving pumpkins with the girls was fun. They were squeamish but eventually did dig in. Both girls demanded to have butterflies carved into the pumpkins.

Abby the soccer star

Kate and Jane practiced walking lots on the sidelines at Abby's games. Abby was not the most focused player--that's for sure! But when she got to be goalie she was in heaven! Her last game she got to play goalie, and she was so happy! If she could be goalie all the time I think she would actually pay attention.

Primary Program

Kate and Abby had their Primary Program and they were amazing. Abby sure had a hard time sitting still-- and was mauling her teacher, but she was so entertaining during the songs. She was nodding her head and singing very expressively. She also said her part from memory perfectly. Kate was amazing-- she sat still, sang loudly and said her part flawlessly. I am so proud of how these girls are growing!

Hurricane retreat

So the start of the week we were just minding our own business. Watching tv, making dinner together--the girls are great at peeling carrots. THEN the school calls to let us know the rest of the week is canceled for hurricane hitting the coast. So what do we do?
HEAD TO OHIO OF COURSE!!! I loaded up the girls and we headed up north.

We hung out with Grandma and Grandpa and Granny. And Uncle Zach. It was fun to just hang out. The girls were amazing on the drive.
We stopped along the road in KY on the way home to take a picture with my favorite fencing in the nation. I love those old stone fences in KY!
